For a liver cancer second opinion, the latest scan is important, but it does not show the complete course by itself. A reviewer may need prior imaging and reports, pathology when a biopsy was performed, recent laboratory results, treatment and procedure details, medication information, and a dated timeline of major events.
This article is educational and does not provide individualized medical advice. A qualified clinician should interpret records, tests, risks, and treatment options for the specific patient.
Liver lesions are often evaluated with multiphase CT or MRI. Keep the actual image files and the reports for the newest study and relevant prior studies. Comparison across time can matter, so label each study with the date and imaging facility.
If a biopsy or surgery was performed, include the pathology report and ask where the original material is stored. Also gather reports from ablation, embolization, radiation, surgery, or other procedures. A report should state what was done, when, and any immediate findings or complications.
Recent blood counts, metabolic tests, liver-function tests, tumor markers when ordered, and other relevant laboratory results can provide clinical context. Add a treatment summary with medication names, doses when available, dates, response, side effects, and the reason a treatment changed.
A one-page chronology helps the reviewer locate the evidence. List diagnosis, imaging, biopsy, procedures, treatment starts and stops, hospitalizations, and major changes. The timeline should point to the original records, not replace them.
Burzynski Clinic reviews medical records before an initial consultation is scheduled. The clinic's prospective patient process lists the records recommended for evaluation and explains how patients may provide records or authorize the clinic to request them. Initial consultations take place in person at the Houston clinic.
