Patient Stories

LIFE IS PRECIOUS

A birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, a wedding, the birth of a new child. New memories…

We are proud of the care that we provide to our patients. It brings smiles to our faces when we learn that patients are celebrating new milestones and just enjoying life. It is not just about the concierge care we provide when patients come through the doors of the Burzynski Clinic with concerns about their diagnosis and treatment, it is also about helping them fight every day, helping them fight to win the battle. This is why we share the following stories from our large family of patients.

KELSEY HILL

This last year, Kelsey and her family celebrated Christmas together, something Kelsey’s mom and dad never thought they would do when Kelsey was found to have adrenal (adrenocortical) cancer with metastases to the lymph nodes and lung. Kelsey was 7 months old when she was diagnosed and her family had little hope. She is now in third grade and her dad confirms she is cancer free and thriving. And, Kelsey says she wants to be a doctor.

DUSTIN KUNNARI

Dustin Kunnari and Calah have been married for two years. We were excited to hear about their marriage and wished them a long and happy life together. Dustin and his parents never thought marriage was a possibility because Dustin was just 2½ years old when he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma of the brain. Initially, his doctors did not hold out much hope for Dustin. However, shortly after he began treatment at Burzynski Clinic, Dustin’s tumor began to shrink and was gone. That was 25 years ago.

PAUL MICHAELS

Paul is 34 years old and has his whole life in front of him. However, things could be different. When he was four years old, his parents were told that Paul had an inoperable brain tumor (optic pathway astrocytoma). Paul was treated at the Burzynski Clinic 30 years ago and is tumor free.

SOPHIA GETTINO

Sophia was only 11 months old when her parents were told that she had a potentially fatal brain tumor. In 1996, her doctors told them it was unlikely that Sophia would make it to her second birthday. Today, 22 years after the treatment she started at the Burzynski Clinic, Sophia is healthy and happy!
